Thinking about ownership?

Questions and answers

Do you have a question about holiday home ownership at Coastfields? Take a look at the most commonly asked questions and it your query may already have been asked (and answered)!

Q: What size are the holiday home pitches?
A: We offer holiday home pitches of varying sizes and some are dependent on the size of home you buy. We have a few pitches for 28 or 32 feet holiday homes but most will accommodate 36 feet or more.

Q: What am I buying?
A: You are buying your holiday home outright but will not own the land on which your property is sited. You will be granted a license for a minimum of 5 years and up to 20 years dependent on the age and condition of the caravan or Lodge. After this period your holiday home agreement will be reviewed on an annual basis.

Q: What protection do I have?
A: We will give you a written contract explaining all the terms of your purchase and occupancy. In addition to this you will be issued with Park rules.

Q: Do I have to pay a deposit?
A: To secure a holiday home we will normally ask for a minimum £1000 deposit. Once we receive this deposit we immediately take the holiday home and pitch you have chosen off the market. After this we will not move the Caravan or carry any works out until we receive a 15% deposit.

Q: How long will it take to complete a purchase?
A: We aim to work towards a 14 day turnaround, but we will always try and shorten this timescale where possible..

Q: Can we buy our holiday home as a family or a group?
A: Yes you can, but we can only register two names to the ownership of the Caravan

Q: Can we part exchange anything against a holiday home?
A: We accept the part exchange of any Holiday Home or Tourer

Q: Is finance available?
A: Yes we offer finance options to which we can cater to most needs. Subject to terms and conditions

Q: Who can help me?
A: We have a dedicated sales team that are based on most of our parks and will be happy to help in any way.

Q: What facilities can I use?
A: Once you are an owner with Coastfields Leisure Ltd you will be allowed up to 8 free passes that will give you access to most our great facilities.

Q: Can I use my holiday home as a permanent home?
A: No you cannot. We are a Holiday Park group not a Residential Park Group.

Q: What about car parking?
A: There is parking available on all our Parks and some of our Pitches come with their own dedicated parking bays

Q: Are dogs allowed?
A: We adopt a dog friendly environment and only ask that whilst you are walking on any of our parks you keep your dog on a lead at all times. The only dogs not allowed are any that are registered on the dangerous dog list. Also we restrict the total of dogs to a maximum of two

Q: What are the running costs for a holiday home?
A: You have an annual Site fee charge along with Local Authority Rates. These combined vary from between £2500 and £3500 dependent on which park and pitch you are on. In addition to this you will also need to pay for your Gas and Electricity. The cost vary due to usage but will range from as little as £150 per season to potentially £400 a season.

Q: Do we have to pay insurance?
A: Yes all Holiday homes have to be fully insured and our sales teams will be more than happy to assist you.

Q: Do we have to pay council tax?
A: No, as your holiday Home should not be your permanent residence

Q: Does our holiday home come with a guarantee?
